You can never please everybody.
And it just feels awful when you aren’t doing anything against them (and trying really hard not to), yet they keep scrutinizing every bit of you. It’s like you’re being watched all the time and committing just a single, unintended mistake will worsen their rotten impression of you. They come in different names and faces. You never really figure out who they are.
